Tangerang's HOTTEST Apartment: Travelio's Comfort Studio at Urban Heights!
Tangerang's "Comfort Studio" at Urban Heights: My Rollercoaster Ride with Travelio (and a Whole Lotta Jakarta Traffic!)
Okay, buckle up, buttercups, because I'm about to spill the tea on Travelio's "Comfort Studio" at Urban Heights in Tangerang. Forget the sanitized brochure – this is the real deal. And let me tell you, it was a journey.
First Impressions: Getting There (and the Jakarta Black Hole)
First, let's be real: Tangerang ain't exactly around the corner. Getting there from, well, anywhere in Jakarta is an adventure. My ride? Let's just say Google Maps and I became intimately acquainted with the notorious traffic. Seriously, plan ahead. Factor in at least an extra hour just to get there, unless you're into the whole "living in your car" aesthetic.
But finally! We made it. Arriving at Urban Heights (which, I’d say lives up to the name; they do have a car park [free of charge] and even a car power charging station!) was the first sigh of relief. Then came Check-in/out [express]. Good, because I was already hangry and tired! The lobby, however, was pretty decent. The Concierge guys were super friendly and helpful (thank you, by the way – I needed that!).
Accessibility & Safety: A Mixed Bag
Now, let's be honest. I'm not in a wheelchair, so I can't speak from personal experience, but the Facilities for disabled guests are listed, which is good. They have a lift. The CCTV in common areas and CCTV outside property gave me a reassuring sense of security. The Front desk [24-hour, Doorman, Security [24-hour]] are also present. They take safety seriously – which is a massive plus in a city like Jakarta. Fire extinguisher, Smoke alarms are all there.
Also, they actually seem to try to keep things clean. The Cleanliness and safety section is quite extensive, and the Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Hand sanitizer, Rooms sanitized between stays, Sterilizing equipment all were present. I saw staff constantly wiping down surfaces. That said, the Room sanitization opt-out available option seemed odd to me.
The Room Itself: Comfort or Just a Studio?
The "Comfort" part? Mostly true. This is where the rollercoaster really started.
The Air conditioning was a godsend, especially after the traffic. And the Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! thank god, because I burned through my data like a caffeinated cheetah. The Internet access – wireless was reliable, which is critical. The Internet itself was pretty good.
Now, to the nitty-gritty of the studio. It was compact, but cleverly laid out. The Air conditioning was a relief. The Bed was comfy (bless whoever chose that mattress!), with a Desk area which helped me work on my laptop while I was working. The Blackout curtains were perfect for sleeping off the Jakarta traffic-induced fatigue. There was a small kitchen area with a Refrigerator and Coffee/tea maker, which I appreciated. Complimentary tea was also provided.
But… it wasn't perfect.
- The View: My window opened, but… the view? It was… okay. Nothing to write home about. But who cares? This is Tangerang, not Bali, after all!
- Soundproofing: It was decent, honestly. I could hear some noise from the hallway, but it wasn't a dealbreaker.
- Bathroom: Small, but functional. Clean enough, with the usual Toiletries, Shower, and Towels. I’m not going to lie, the Hair dryer was a lifesaver, and I will say the Hot water linen and laundry washing was amazing!
- Breakfast: I didn't order the in-room breakfast because I'm a creature of habit and hate waiting for things, so I didn't get to find out about the Breakfast in room. But the fact that it's there is a plus! They also offered Breakfast takeaway service which I found pretty amazing.
Eating and Drinking: Food, Glorious Food (and Some Disappointments)
This is where Urban Heights really shines. They have Restaurants, a Poolside bar, a Snack bar, and a Coffee shop, so you won't starve, and even better, they offer Room service [24-hour]. I found the Coffee/tea in restaurant to also be amazing.
The Asian cuisine in restaurant was pretty good, which is a win for me. They have a Vegetarian restaurant too. They have Happy hour – which I definitely partook in. And the Desserts in restaurant were heavenly!
The Bar was a nice touch, a great place to chill out after a long day of city living. But I also found out that they have a Pool with view, which I missed out on. Grrr. Next time!
Getting Around and Other Conveniences
Okay, here's where things get a bit more… real. Car park [on-site] is obviously helpful since you're likely driving. Taxi service is available too.
The Laundry service, Ironing service, dry cleaning, and Daily housekeeping were all a plus. Cash withdrawal at least is available if you're running low on cash. There’s a convenience store – absolutely essential for snacks and forgotten essentials.
Things to Do & Relaxation – The Ups and Downs
Okay, this is where the hotel could be better.
- The Pool: There is a swimming pool [outdoor]! I didn't get a chance to go, because… life. But it looked inviting.
- Fitness Center/Gym: They do have a Fitness center! Which again, I didn’t use. Sigh.
- Spa: They have a Spa, Spa/sauna, Sauna, Steamroom, Massage - All things I would have loved to have tried! So, basically, I missed out on all the relaxation stuff. My mistake. Lesson learned: next time, I will hit at least one of those saunas!
The Verdict: Worth It?
Look, the "Comfort Studio" at Urban Heights isn't a flawless utopia. It has its quirks and imperfections. But it is surprisingly comfortable, and has things you want, not things you don't care about.
Pros:
- Cleanliness is a priority.
- Amazing food options!
- Reliable Wi-Fi.
- Friendly staff.
- Good value for money.
Cons:
- Traffic can be a nightmare.
- Limited things to do in the immediate vicinity (but hey, you're in Tangerang!).
- Some of the facilities, I didn’t use.
Final Verdict:
If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient base in Tangerang, with good food options and good service, then the Comfort Studio at Urban Heights is a solid choice. Just pack your patience for the commute (and maybe a swimsuit for that pool I missed!). I'd definitely stay there again – especially now that I know what to expect and how to make the most of it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to book some time at that spa…
Saint Petersburg's BEST Hotel? This Western Plus Centre Hotel Will SHOCK You!
Alright, strap in, Buttercups! This ain’t your cookie-cutter itinerary. This is my attempt to navigate the chaotic beauty of Tangerang, Indonesia, from the supposed “comfort” of the Comfort Studio Urban Heights Residence By Travelio. Prepare yourselves for a whole lotta… well, you’ll see.
Day 1: Arrival and the Great Indonesian Grocery Grapple
14:00 - Arrival. Hmmm, "Comfort"? Okay, the Travelio check-in was a breeze. (Thank God, because I'm always a bit of a stress-ball with these things.) The room? "Urban Heights" it is. Clean-ish. The A/C blasts like a hurricane, so that’s a win in this tropical sauna. First impressions… it smells faintly of… maybe lemongrass and… desperation? Guess we'll roll with it.
15:00 - The Grocery Gauntlet. My mission: find snacks. Specifically, anything that doesn't resemble a deep-fried mystery meat. Navigating a new Indonesian supermarket solo is a sport. The aisles are a kaleidoscope of colorful packaging, and I can't read a single label. Panic sets in. I stumble upon a friendly-looking woman with a stunning batik scarf. "Selamat!" I blurt out (a word and I'm already fluent, apparently). After a lot of pointing, miming, and what I think was a shared laugh over my confusion regarding a particularly pungent durian display, I emerge victorious with… some sort of brightly colored, suspiciously sweet crackers. Success! Or, you know, maybe not. I'll find out later.
16:00 – Room Rant (Part 1): The wifi sucks. And I mean, really sucks. Is it the universe testing my resolve to be present on this journey? Probably. Do I need to check my emails? Absolutely. Am I now wandering around the lobby, desperately trying to leech onto the slightly-less-terrible connection? You betcha.
19:00 – Dinner: Warung Wanderings. Okay, this is where things got interesting. I'd envisioned myself becoming a culinary god, a master of Indonesian cuisine. Reality? I wandered the streets, feeling utterly lost, until I stumbled upon a tiny warung (local eatery) overflowing with people. Decision made.
- The Warung Wonder: Picture this: low plastic tables, the sizzle of a hundred woks, and a cacophony of Indonesian chatter. I pointed at things, smiled a lot, and somehow ordered something that was… incredible. Like, mind-blowing. Spicy fried chicken, rice, and a chili sauce that made my eyes water in the best possible way. I think I ate the best food I've had in recent memory. I've rethought the rest of the days, I'll definitely go back again.
21:00 - Room Rant (Part 2, Electric Boogaloo): The shower is, alas, cold. Very, very cold. My urban height just got a lot lower. I take a deep breath, and hope for a better day tomorrow.
Day 2: Temples, Traffic, and a Tangled Web of Transportation
- 08:00 - Breakfast of Champions (Possibly Wrong Ones): Those “crackers” from yesterday? They’re… actually surprisingly addictive. Paired with instant coffee, this is the definition of a "breakfast."
- 09:00 - Borobudur Prep (aka the Morning Meltdown): Okay, so I thought I'd planned this perfectly. Turns out, I need to book a tour for Borobudur three weeks in advance. My fault, I know. Instead: a solo exploration of a local temple. Embrace the unexpected, right?
- 10:00 - Temple Time: Found a temple that isn't in the guidebooks. It was quiet, peaceful, serene… and utterly, overwhelmingly hot. My clothes are sticking to me. I wish for just one breeze. The sheer beauty of the architecture, the intricate carvings, definitely made up for it, though. I spent an hour sketching and just soaking in the atmosphere.
- 12:00 - The Traffic Terror: Public transport! I'm a champ. The bus was crowded, sweaty, and… an adventure. The driver was an absolute maestro weaving through the chaos. I clung on for dear life, and learned a lot about the local music playlist.
- 14:00 - Lunch Disaster (Attempted): I bravely ordered something from a stall near the bus station. It looked… interesting. Tasted… interesting. I quickly opted for a bottle of ice-cold water and a silent prayer of gratitude for my digestive system.
- 15:00 - Return to the Residence: Finally, back to the safety of the "Urban Heights". I collapsed on the bed, wishing I had a pool.
Day 3: A Day of Rest – And Reckoning
- 09:00 - Sleep: (Okay, mostly.) Honestly, I needed this.
- 10:00 - Laundry Lament: Tried to do laundry. I am now sitting in the lobby again, watching the rain.
- 12:00 – A Decision: I will give up on the travel plans. I will sleep more. I will visit the Warung again, and I will try again tomorrow.
- 19:00 - Back to the Warung! The Sequel: Tonight was the best meal I have had in a while, and I ordered the same thing. That is more than enough.
- 21:00 – The End: The end of my day, and I am satisfied.

Is this place ACTUALLY "comfortable"? (And does "studio" mean what I *think* it means?)
Okay, spill the tea on the air conditioning. Is it a frosty paradise or a sweaty nightmare?
What about the Wi-Fi? Because, you know, work/Netflix/stalking exes. Priorites.
Is it in a good location? I don't want to spend my entire trip stuck in traffic!
What do I get for my money? Is it actually worth it?
Are there any amenities like a pool or gym? And, MORE IMPORTANTLY, are they any good?
Okay, let's say something goes wrong. Who do I contact? Is customer service a nightmare?
Should I book it? Give it to me straight!
